Genevieve
Micheletti began violin at age 4 with a neighbor in her native
Salinas, CA. Now 17, she is a senior at the York School in
Monterey. She has been studying with her current teacher,
Rochelle Walton, since 1997. Genevieve has twice auditioned and
won opportunities to perform in both the San Francisco Junior
Bach Festival and the Carmel Bach Festival. This past year she
played the Brahms Horn Trio and winning the opportunity to
perform the piece through both the Santa Cruz Baroque Festival
and Talent Bank competition. During the summers of 2005 and 2006
she attended the Quartet Program run by Charles Castleman, and
this past summer she participated in California Summer Music,
where she was featured in a master class taught by Milan Vitek.
Genevieve spent this past Christmas in New York City as part of
the New York String Orchestra Seminar, conducted by Jaime
Laredo. Genevieve hopes to pursue music in college, whether in a
conservatory or college setting, and her ultimate goal is to
become both performer and teacher of the violin. In her free
time she enjoys going to the beach and writing. |
